Davis Webb took the reins at quarterback for the Texas Tech Red Raiders and led them to a National University Holiday Bowl win late Monday night. The freshman, Webb, threw four touchdown passes on 409 yards passing with no interceptions as Texas Tech beat #14 Arizona State 37-23.

Texas Tech got out to a 13-0 lead halfway through the first quarter after Webb's second touchdown pass of the game; an 18 yard connection with Jakeem Grant.

Arizona State could only muster two field goals on their last two possessions of the first quarter cutting down the lead to 13-6.

The second quarter became more of the same for the Red Raiders as Webb led his team on two more scoring drives.  Touchdown passes of 23 yards to Bradley Marquez and 21 yards to Jakeem Grant put the Red Raiders up 27-6 with 10:08 left in the half.

At that point, the Red Raiders had complete control of the game, coasting to the win.

Red Raiders head coach Kliff Kingsbury was happy to get the win, "We wanted the seniors to have a moment this year and thrilled to death they got to have this moment and boost us into 2014 and that's what we talked about as a program.  Leaving your mark and how are you going to help this program and those seniors stepped up and did a great job helping us to get a win."
