Lubbock Christian University Softball opened up Pool Play at the NAIA National Championship with a 14 to 6 run-rule win over Simpson (California). (Box Score)
LCU was led by leadoff hitter, and center fielder, Priscilla FaGaines and first baseman Kim Frazier. FaGaines went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Frazier smacked two solo home runs and went 3 for 4.
As far as pitching goes, LCU starter Meagan Navarrette picked up her 18th win on the season by pitching 4 and 2/3 innings and striking out 1, but she gave up 6 runs and 4 walks.
