LSU Cornerback Tyrann Mathieu aka The Honey Badger has Been Dismissed From the Tigers Football Team.

Star Louisiana State University cornerback Tyrann Mathieu has been dismissed from the Tigers football team for repeated failure to comply with  LSU drug policies. This is not the first time Mathieu has run astray from LSU's substance abuse policy, as just last season he was suspended one game for a failed drug test.

Mathieu was a shocking Heisman finalist last season, and was thought to be a favorite this year by many members of the media.

In a statement, head football coach Les Miles was quoted as saying, “This is a very difficult day for our team. We lose a quality person, teammate and contributor to the program. However, with that being said, we have a standard that our players are held to and when that standard is not met, there are consequences."

Commenting further on the issue, and shedding light on the circumstances around Mathieu's dismissal, Miles added, "I called on the leadership of this team to understand that these things happen and they certainly understand it and they are ready to take positive steps.

It is currently unknown what Mathieu's ultimate fate will be, but what is known is that he will not be playing for LSU next football season.
