LCU Lady Chaps Awarded No. 1 Seed in NAIA National Tournament [VIDEO]
Lubbock Christian Lady Chap Basketball was awarded a No. 1 seed in the NAIA National Tournament.
The Lady Chaps will face No. 8 Southern University at New Orleans on March 14th at 3:30 p.m. to open tournament play in Frankfort, Kentucky. Southern is the toughest 8 seed with a 20-4 record while LCU is 29-3.
LCU makes their 10th consecutive trip to the national championships and the first time they are. However, for the first time, LCU heads to the tournament as a top-seed and via an automatic berth.
They received the automatic bid after defeating No.2 Oklahoma City 77-64 to claim their first ever Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament title. LCU will be leaving the NAIA for NCAA Division 2 this next season.
