The Texas Tech women’s basketball program announced the additions of Katie Hensle and Layne Reeves to the staff on Monday.

Hensle fills the void left by Brooke Stoehr, who ended a three-year career with the Lady Raiders when she became the co-head coach at Northwestern State (Louisiana) in April.  Reeves joins’ the staff as a graduate assistant.

"I am very excited for the opportunity to join such a quality program and to work with a great staff led by a head coach committed to excellence on and off the court,” Hensle said.

Hensle spent the last four years as the head coach at John Paul II High School in Plano, Texas where the Lady Cardinals advanced to the regional round of the TAPPS 5A state playoffs in her first two seasons at the helm. The Lady Cardinals advanced to the TAPPS 5A State Championship game in 2011, finishing as the state runner-up. She leaves John Paul with an overall record of 107-39.

Reeves comes home to Lubbock after spending her collegiate career at Nebraska under head coach Connie Yori
