It’s officially Tim Tebow time in Denver as head coach John Fox announced Tuesday Tebow would be the starter when Denver faces the Miami Dolphins coming off their bye week.

Tebow replaces incumbent starter Kyle Orton, who’s struggled this season as Denver’s opened up the season 1-4. Tebow replaced Orton during halftime of last Sunday’s game against San Diego, nearly leading the Broncos back from a late 16-point deficit, but falling just short losing 29-24.

Tebow wasn’t without his struggles in Sunday’s contest, showing rust, having three fumbled snaps and six misfires in 10 pass attempts. He did show what made him so lethal in college by rushing for a touchdown and throwing for one more.

The game at Sun Life Stadium will be a homecoming of sorts for Tebow. The Dolphins plan to honor the 2009 University of Florida national championship team at halftime.
