SportsRadio 93.7 WEEI in Boston reported late Tuesday that Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's Performance Enhancing Drug Policy.

Welker has had a rough preseason after suffering a concussion against the Houston Texans two weeks ago.

The NFL Network reports that Welker filed an appeal of the suspension two weeks ago, but was notified on Tuesday that his appeal was denied.

Welker is in his second season with Broncos after playing previously for the Patriots, Chargers and Dolphins and collegiately at Texas Tech.
