Congratulations to the Borden County Coyotes on winning the 2016 UIL 1A Division I State Championship. Wednesday night, Borden County defeated Jonesboro 60-12 in a Six-Man game played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Greg Tepper, from Dave Campbell's Texas Football, said Borden County's defense paved the way to the blowout win.

According to the UIL archives, the 2016 State Championship is the fourth in Borden County school history. The Coyotes also won Six-Man state titles in 1997, 2008 and 2009.

Three more days of UIL State Championship games will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington between December 15-17.
